TENTH ANNUAL "STORYTELLING FESTIVAL BY THE SEA" FEATURES LOCAL NATIVE AMERICANS
Friday Night and All Day Saturday, September 11 & 12
Trinidad, CA

This year the festival features the North Coast Storytellers and local guests. Be ready to "travel" the world through story with Ali Freedlund's home--grown stories, Dan O'Gara's legends from the North Coast and Irish anecdotes, and Seabury Gould"s Celtic tales. Prepare to laugh with Paul Woodland as he explored the wonder of nature, to shiver at Carpathian's macabre imagery, to tough the edges of magic with Ross Mackinney, and to be inspired by Anita Paula's stories meant to awaken your noble heart. Come learn with Carol De Lorme Larsen what animals can teach us, and experience with Charlene Storr the frailty and strength of family. Plan to understand the California Indian way as Liz and Greg O'Rouke of the Hupa and Yurok Tribes highlight the California Indian stage. Be ready to be entertained, mesmerized, and impressed with the variety of stories and styles unique to each teller.

This year's event will be held at the Trinidad Town Hall on Main Street in Trinidad. Pre-pay by August 29 and save 15%. For information call 707-677-3840 or checkout the website at www.inkpeople.org

Abby Hogge and friends wanted to test their multidimensional athletic skills so put together the first-ever Willow Creek Triathlon consisting of a half-mile kayak run, 6 mile bike ride and a 2 mile run. Bigfoot Rafting Company sponsored the inflatable kayaks. Categories included men's and women's individual tri-athletes and men's and women's relay teams. The event took place on Sunday, June 28th as a fun event with no particular declared winners. There were about twenty individual participants but only one men's and one women's relay team. The secret is out! The women's relay team of Tedee, Beverly and Martha edged their male counterparts of Marc, Tyler and Norman for the relay title. (Last names are held in strict confidence) Everyone was awarded a "TRINITY TRIATHLON - FIRST PLACE" tee-shirt. All enjoyed a BBQ in the park after the event. If you would like to support such events in the future let your WC Chamber of Commerce representative and/or Bigfoot Rafting Company know.
